Per PMI, if you have a university degree or its equivalent, you need to report 36 months of project management experience to be eligible to take the exam. This is alongside 35 contact hours of project management education.
If you don’t have a university degree, then you need to report 60 months of project management to be eligible. This is alongside 35 contact hours of project management education
There are two options:
1. At home. You can decide to take the exam at the comfort of your house OR
2. At a Testing Centre: You can choose a testing centre close to you, and take your exam there.
You will determine this once your application is approved and you have submitted payment.
For people with active PMI membership, the exam fee is $ 405 USD. or those with no active membership subscription, the fee is $555USD.
The short answer is YES. But we strongly recommend becoming a member of PMI because of the loads of benefits you et from being a member. Exam discount, access to the digital copy of PMBoK, resources etc.
Once your application is approved, you have 1 year (365 days) from the date of approval to take the exam. If you don’t take the exam after one year, your approval will expire and you will have to re-apply (start the application process from scratch)
